The fabulous PODCAST SHOW by MICHAEL KAISER on Garagepunk.com - RETRO NOW!

I just listened to a couple of shows from the RADIOBLIVION roster again today and got lost in it right away. I’ll keep my more emotional memories of listenership to myself and can only suggest you check out the very fun MOJO WORKOUT, which also has a lot of Michael Kaiser in it. Nah, I got no link ready for that now, ask Google, SOB!

THEEE BAT!

April 3, 2011 § 2 Comments

Oh man, you gotta love the Japanese Bands that trash out for some time now: Jackie and the Cedrics, Vivian Boys, 5, 6, 7, 8’s, Jet Boys, the Routes (thanks for the reader iniative there!), the Fly and Miss Tarantula & the magnificent and royal Guitar Wolf, Teengenerate or the classic Spiders, …this never ends (and that means I’m surely leaving something out)! I had the Chance to see Guitar Wolf TWICE and the 5,6,7,8’s once and missed them on all occasions …thru a string …of mishaps. Yeah right, major bummer giving orders. What’s left is loving those great records by them and they get A LOT of that love over at the record player of my trust. Needless to say, a good part of the neighborhood get’s to take a listen to those tunes as well…

And now THEEE BAT. You love bats, you love LOUDly crancked tunes, you’ll love them. From stage attire to play, Theee Bat are a fun and horrific sight to behold. Just WHEN will you come over to play good people? My buddy Marty from Swamp Fiction and Pacification Distro (Damn, you got a whole lot going man!) has a split 7″ with THEEE BAT and other fave band of mine ATOMIC SUPLEX out. Those are some tasty tunes!

All links provided by the internet. Thanks for that!

FRACULA KEYBOARD FUN!

April 3, 2011 § Leave a comment

FRACULA is a wonderfully trashy, electro Rock’n’Roll duo from Italia/America, I have friendly ties to. And needless to say, we here in IDON MINE land rock out to it almost daily and can’t get enough of the sounds of FRACULA! They have one super LP out on Surfin Ki rercords, one side with screenprinted artwork by the DRAWING FRAC, the other filled with a slew of their sweetest tunes. You can be sure that there will be more FRACULA related crazy on here, cuz I am FRACULA mad!

LUX INTERIOR TRIBUTE 2011!

Did this as part of this years LUX INTERIOR tribute. Lux thru the ages, so to speak. From young to old – from crazed to gold. You gotta love LUX, he’s a hero – the Cramps are heroes.

SAVAGE KICK!

As one might suspect, Music is an integral part of making PICTURE ROCK’N’ROLL: Gospel, Soul, Blues, Jazz, Exotica, Country, YehYeh, Garage Rock, Folk, Punk Rock, 90’s Scumbag Rock’N’Roll, or Garage Punk, as is the most recent and now very refered incarnation, are undividable links in a organic chain, keeping together various living traditions of loud and joyous goings on.

Let’s say this SAVAGE KICK podcast drawing stands as a little waymark of my affection for the rawking podcasters out there, that never seize to bring new and ancient sounds to hungry ears like mine. And with that, help fuel my urges to draw to Rock’n’Roll sounds.

I’ll have some more of these podcast show related things in the works, so stay tuned for more!

IGORs DANCE PARTY!

April 2, 2011 § Leave a comment

“Going out tonight to dig a Rock’n’Roll band!”

We all know this feeling, right? So does little IGOR! Tony’s Monstrosities put out this CLASSIC in way back times (sorry record snobs, I lack the proper label and issue info now, but will add this later, OK?). It’s ladden with fun, and rythms that make you want to turn the house upside down and redecorate a little – RAWK’N’ROLL STYLE! The MONTESAS of Germany created a Killer-Monster cover of it quite recently. Certainly be sure to catch them out when they are in town, or take a trip to wherever they play – it’s a Frat Rock, Hully Gully party!

NORTON RECORDS!

April 2, 2011 § Leave a comment

Over at my GARAGEPUNK HIDEOUT Blog, I started something called “FAVE LABELS” a little while ago, so I have yet another excuse to draw R’N’R related things without anyone asking. Of course this is not an “official” NORTON Records artwork or something, in fact it’s just a little giddy token of my infatuation for them.

A little about NORTON Records:

Run by the fabulous Duo of Miriam Linna and Billy Miller, who are in a KICK-ASS set of their own called the A-BONES, NORTON will have you find a criminal lot of WAY OUT reissues of stuff we all wish we could have grabbed when it came out first, but were simply just too unborn, or dim-witted, OR broke to get at the time. There are fabulous re-discoveries of RAW 50’s ROCK’N’ROLL and action packed new releases by all time greats of the likes of Mary Weiss, Sun Ra (AND actually too many to name) and of course, the hippest new Rockers out there. All coming at you in splendid presentation, by the way. Norton is dedicated as hell to get all the WILD sounds of the universe out atcha – one could say, that there’s just too much fun to be had from them, if that was a bad thing.

Check it out and get lost in Norton land! www.nortonrecords.com Watch out for future installments of FAVE RECORDS and get surprised by what I like in crazy good labels! And wonder that it’s surely some you most possibly already know about.
